Gilroy drafts in Supple

March 04, 2010
Dublin boss Pat Gilroy has drafted in former Ireland Under 21 soccer goalkeeper Shane Supple ahead of this Sunday's vital Division One clash against Mayo at Castlebar.

The highly-rated St Brigid's shot-stopper, who left Roy Keane's Ipswich Town last year, put a halt to his pursuit professional soccer career after growing disillusioned with the game and is now bidding to become deputy to All Star Stephen Cluxton.

Supple missed out on Dublin's opening two wins of the National Football League against Derry and Kerry as he recovered from a knee operation, but he is now poised to take his chance when he gets the call from Gilroy.
