Updates from the O'Dwyers, Clontarf, Na Fianna, Wanderers, Scoil Uí Chonaill, St Brigids, Naomh Olaf, Garristown, Erin go Bragh, St. Margarets, Lucan Sarsfields, Raheny and Ballinteer St Johns clubs. O'Dwyers Results: Hard Luck to the Junior B Football team who were beaten on Sunday by Robert Emmetts. The lads did very well in winning the North Division of the League and had to play off Robert Emmetts the winners of the South Division League. Well done to the management team and panel. Training: Adult Football, hurling and Camogie Training has ceased for their Christmas Break. Training will resume in early January. New members for these teams are always welcome. Managers are also being put in place for all Adult Teams for 2009. If you are interested in getting involved please submit details in writing to Club Secretary - Sharon Whelan by the 6th January. Juvenile: The Nursery skills camp is on its Christmas Break until Saturday 10th January 2009. Well done to all the children who won awards at the Juvenile Awards on Saturday. Upcoming dates for your diary: O'Dwyers Christmas Swim is taking place at 12noon on Christmas Day down on the front beach (via Convent Lane). Sponsorship cards available from Dinny O'Leary and Damien Prout. All monies raised go to local causes. O'Dwyers GAA Club have produced a Club Calendar for 2009. Calendars are on sale on Tuesday & Thursday night in the Club House. They are 10e each. Clontarf Congratulations to our Junior B Footballers who clinched promotion to AFL 8 with a magnificent victory over St. Brigids (4-6,1-11), best were Richard Bunworth, Morgan O'Halloran and Richie Fox. Minor Footballers qualified for Championship Final with a super win away to Round Towers (2-10,0-9). They play Fingallians in the final on Sunday at Balgriffin, 2pm, all support welcome. Annual Christmas 7-a-side Blitz for charity (St. Francis Hospice Raheny) will take place on Sat Dec 27th at the clubhouse, commencing at 4:30pm with registeration at 4pm. Nursery Xmas party was another great success. Many thanks to organiser in chief Matt O'Neill, GPO Neil O'Driscoll, PJ Ryan and all his assistants on food, John Opperman on the Go karts and of course Santa and his 2 elves. Replay fixed for Balgriffin on Saturday, 20 December next at 2 oíclock. Again please support in big numbers. After almost 30 years, Dessie Farrell finally hung up his boots last Thursday night. We thank him for his loyal service to the club during this time and wish him well in his retirement. His experience will surely be put to use in the club as the need arises. Mentors / Helpers night last Saturday was a great success. Thanks to all who helped make it so. Omagh Peace Choir Concert on Sunday, 21 December next at 3 íclock. St Brigids U16 Ladies Footballers completed the League & Championship Double at the weekend beating Scoil Ui Chonail in the League Final replay. Well done to all involved. Both Championship Finals ended in draws at the weekend. Both games were cracking entertainment. The Minor Footballers replay against Na Fianna will take place at 2pm this Saturday in Balgriffin. Please check the website later this week as this may change. Junior Hurlers replay will take place in the New Year. The Club Xmas Party takes place this Friday from 8.30pm. Live music and many spot prizes. All Drinks are Ä3 as a thank you to everyone for their hard work all year. Junior A Footballers went down narrowly in the League Promotion Final. Well done on your Championship winning year. Well done to Aodhan McEnerney who was part of the DIT Freshers team that won the All-Ireland Colleges league. Congratulations to Nuala Keavney who won 2400.The numbers drawn were 5, 8 &16 and next weeks jackpot is 1000. Remember that the Lotto monster draw will be on Sunday 21st December with 30 prizes to be won in addition to the jackpot prize. If you havent got your christmas tree yet the Hurlers will be selling again trees this Saturday in the club. The last limited (50) 5 turkey/ham draw will also be held on Saturday. St. Margarets The club would like to wish all of our members a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Reaching our centenary year was a fantastic milestone for the club and we hope the next 100 years prove to be as enjoyable and successful. We would like to thank the executive committee who continously and tirelessly put in great effort in running the club, to the managers and selectors who run our teams and also to the players who make things happen on the field of play. We hope 2009 will be a very successful year both on and off the pitch. Lucan Sarsfields Hard luck to our U21B footballers who exited the Championship on Saturday and also to our 2007 U21 hurlers who despite a second-half comeback were defeated in the 2007 Championship final in front of a huge Lucan crowd on Sunday in Kiltipper Road. Our Christmas Draw was held on Saturday night. Thanks to all the sponsors of the prizes, the sellers and everybody who bought tickets.
