Crokes complete double

Dublin's Mark Vaughan
Kilmacud Crokes rounded off a memorable year by completing a Dublin league and championship double at Thomas Davis' expense on Sunday.
Seven days after they were crowned Leinster club champions for a third time, the Stillorgan men added the Dublin ACL Division 1 title following a 2-6 to 0-8 victory at O'Toole Park.
Two first half goals gave them a 2-3 to 0-4 interval lead and they withstood a strong second half fightback by their Tallaght opponents to claim their third major title in a matter of weeks.
County star Mark Vaughan scored the opening goal after 20 minutes and Ray Cosgrove was on hand to fire home the second five minutes later after Vaughan's initial shot had rebounded off the crossbar.
That moved Paddy Carr's men into a 2-3 to 0-2 lead, but the next six scores all came from the boot of Davis forward Paddy O'Connor, who grabbed two before the break. Indeed, Crokes were held scoreless until four minutes from the end when Niall Corkery pointed and further efforts from Vaughan (free) and Barry O'Rorke sealed Davis' fate.
