Dual role would be 'too much' for Con

Dublin's Con O'Callaghan with Tom O'Sullivan of Kerry

Con O'Callaghan has ruled out the prospect of playing both football and hurling for Dublin next year.

The dual star scored 2-3 for Cuala in their Dublin SHC 'A' quarter-final victory over Kilmacud Crokes, just eight days after helping the Dublin footballers to an historic five-in-a-row of All-Ireland titles. But he told Off The Ball at yesterday's Dublin 'homecoming' in Merrion Square that he won't be lining out for the Dublin hurlers in the near future.

"I love going back to the club - but it'd be too much," he said.

"At the end of the day, the whole goal is to win the All-Ireland and I suppose the other stuff; that's nice on top but the main goal was to win the All-Ireland and that's what we did so we're delighted.

"I hope to keep improving, the goal is to always improve. I think there's still a lot of areas of my game I can work on.

"It depends on every game it's just about improving shooting, increasing your accuracy, faster, stronger, fitter - there's always some area you can improve on."
