Castleknock club notes

Aug. 5 – A huge logistical operation brings 255 boys and girls to Somerton for a week of All-Ireland competition with 107 games played under the control of 18 referees. It was a great success in the run-in to the All-Ireland Finals with enormous thanks to the chief organisers Neil Devin, Jason Sweeney, Gerry O’Connor and GPO Maria Bergin.

Aug. 6 – With the MFC just around the corner, thanks to Donaghmore/Ashbourne, Meath Minor League Champions, for hosting a super challenge match against our Minor Footballers which we won 4-14 4-12 having been level 1-4 each at half-time.

Aug. 7 – The Ladies footballers suffer a disappointing 2-point defeat, 2-14 3-13, to Ranelagh Gaels in the Adult Cup Div.5 Semi-Final beaten by a very late and very contentious goal.

Rob Wylie received the Div.6 Cup on behalf of the players who have given us so much to enjoy throughout the Summer. Congrats to everyone involved.
