Doherty's worst fears confirmed

Mayo GAA has confirmed that Jason Doherty suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during last weekend's win over Donegal.

The Burrishoole forward was forced off the pitch midway through the second half of the 1-14 to 1-10 Super 8s victory in Castlebar.

A scan has confirmed Doherty's worst fears and he will therefore miss Saturday's All-Ireland semi-final clash with Dublin.
