Glasdrumman GAC Notes
January 23, 2012
Pride of place this week goes to the St Columban's Under 16s who secured their place in the Ulster Vocational Schools Semi - Final with a comfortable win over Innver College, Carrickmacross 4 -11 to 0-4 at wintry Crossmaglen on Friday past. As the scores suggest it was a one sided affair but credit must be given too the team for maintaining their high level of intensity throughout the 60 minutes. Their opponents in the semi-final are the Tyrone champions, St Joseph's Coalisland, in two weeks time. Well done Patrick Kelly, Conor McCartan and Elliot Grant.
Having tasted defeat for the first time in 2012 when they lost by two points to Derry at the Athletics Ground the County Seniors will turn their focus to the National League when they play Donegal in the first round.
Good luck to both our teams taking parting the Top Club 10 -13 year old table quiz on Tuesday night at Longstone. The teams are the Glasdrumman Cailini, Kerri Grant, Lauren McComb, Katie Smith, & Cora Trimble, and the Top Guns Aiden McVeigh, Matthew Brennan, Johnathan McVeigh and James McDowell.
The games night held on Friday night was a great success with the numbers attending exceeded all expectations. The Youth Committee will meet in the next week with a view making the evening a regular event.
