Aughlisnafin club notes

Aughlisnafin GAC Awards Presentation and Dinner will be held this Saturday 28th January in The Lodge, Castlewellan with special guest speaker Pete McGrath. With nearly 60 tickets sold there re still a couple of tables left. Tickets are £25 and can be purchased from Gerard Lenaghan, Rory Murphy, Brendan Quinn or Orla Flanagan.

The juvenile presentations will take place at the same venue earlier in the day with a surprise guest speaker.

The next committee meeting will be this Wednesday 25th January at 7.30pm. There will be a youth committee meeting beforehnd commencing at 6.45 pm sharp.

There will be football coaching for all Aughlisnafin girls aged 7 - 14 year old (including any new members looking to join) this Thursday evening at Jack Kielty Pairc in Dundrum. Everyone should be on the pitch and ready to start at 6.30 pm sharp with boots on and warm clothing. This session and others to follow over the next 6 weeks or so has been planned by both clubs in a joined up approach to try and encourage more girls to take part in playing gaelic football in the locality of both clubs. Depending on numbers the sessions will be split into two age groups P3s - P6s & P7s - Year 10. Emphasis will be on fun and practising football skills through drills and games. The sessions will be delivered by coaching officer Cormac Venny with assisting coaches from both clubs and parents of those taking part are more than welcome to come along to watch.

The juvenile registration day for the coming season will be held on Thursday 2nd February 2011 from 6.15 - 7.15 pm in the Fin Hall. New members are very welcome.

The Club Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 2nd Feb at 7.30pm in St Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception Aughlisnafin.

Numbers 6, 9, 14, 15. J Murray matched 3 and won £50. Jackpot now £1,500.
