The ladies championship Q/F's took place over the weekend. In the Senior Competition the current holders Bredagh found their groove with a convincing win over Rostrevor while Bryansford had a much easier than expected turnover against Saval. The Newry girls were short a few players but nonetheless a convincing win for the Ford. Castlewellan also had too much in the tank for a spirited Downpatrick side as they too marched into the Semi's. Kilcoo and Clonduff meet on Tuesday evening in the other outstanding Q/F.
      In the Intermediate Competition, Mayobridge set aside their topsy turvey league form to defeat last year's finalists Bright. Shamrocks and Burren served up a real thriller with the Newry girls winning through by 7 points in a very entertaining encounter. Annaclone had a walkover against Bredaghs 2nd string and along with Ballymartin they now make up the Semi-final quartet.
      In the Junior division, league leaders Tullylish had no trouble disposing of a young Saul outfit and Loughinisland had a resounding win over Bryansfords  2nd string, while St. Michaels had a walkover v St. Johns. 
The Semi-Final draw is being made tonight Monday 16th with the games up for decision on Saturday night 21st Aug. All games have a 7:00pm throw-in.  
The U-14 Championship kicks off this Sunday. In the 'A' division, Castlewellan should be too strong for Saul while Loughinisland and Carryduff is likely to be a lot closer and could go either way. In the 'B' division, Bryansford will start as favourites against Annaclone, and likewise Shamrocks v Saval while Tullylish v Kilcoo could end up all square at the long whistle.
