NHL 2: Barrowsiders pip Down

March 14, 2010
The long journey to Ballygalget proved a fruitful one for Carlow as they secured a two-point win over Down in Division 2 of the NHL.

Carlow 3-11
Down 3-9

A home victory looked to be on the cards when goals from Gareth 'Magic' Johnson and Conor O'Prey helped Down to a 3-6 to 1-5 interval lead. Paudie Kehoe accounted for the Carlow goal after seven minutes.

On the restart, Kehoe and Andrew Gaule hit goals in the space of 60 seconds to turn the game on its head. And Carlow finished the stronger with points from Robert Foley and substitute Shane Kavanagh to seal the win.
