March 08, 2010The G Factor competition was major success on Saturday night. Nine entertaining acts took the stage to battle it out in front of a large crowd, with Sexual Chocolate announced as winners. Thanks to Glasdrumman AOH for hosting the event, Sinead Murphy and Gary for organising a great nights craic, the judges, Liam Murphy (Louis Walsh), Colette Burden (Cheryl Cole), Bonnie MacGreevy (Dannii Minogue) and Tony Bannon (Simon Cowell), compere for the evening Gary McDowell, Ogie Burns for his words of wisdom, everyone who turned upon the night to support the event and also the nine acts.
NCFE classes for over 16s continue in the clubrooms every Monday, 7.00 - 9.00pm. Please contact Catherine Carr for information (07725 188591).
The trip to the Belfast Giants for the Secondary School children who attended the drugs and alcohol awareness programme will take place this Friday. The minibus will leave the Halfway House at 4.45pm and should return around 10.30pm. Please ensure all permission slips are returned to either Annette Grant, Catherine Kelly or Jen McKay.
Yoga classes every Tuesday, 8.00pm in the clubrooms. Suitable for all ages and fitness / mobility levels, £4.00 per person.
Ceili dancing classes each Wednesday, 8.00pm in the clubrooms.
U16 & U14 training continues on Saturdays at 10.45am. The U14 league starts early this year on Sunday 21st March with an away game against Longstone at 11.30am, so can all U14 players please attend training this Saturday. New players welcome.
As it's Mothers Day on Sunday there will be no training for the U8s, U10s and U14 girls squads. If there are any ladies who would like to help out this year with the U10s & U8s please contact Vincey Smith or Paddy Brennan.
Bingo as usual this Thursday at 8.30pm. The tote currently stands at £4,200.
Club merchandise available including tracksuits, £38 for juvenile sizes and adults £48, club coats junior sizes £25 and adults £30, hoodies £25 for junior sizes and adults £30 and tee shirts £15 all sizes. Please contact Catherine Kelly for details of orders.
The club is collecting second hand clothes to raise funds, please forward all second hand clothes to Colette Burden or any Committee member.
