Longstone GAC Notes

March 08, 2010
*On Sunday night in Saval Gaelic & Athletic Club Longstone won a county Scor Sinsear title for the first time in Trath na gCeist ('the quiz'). Well done to the team, namely, Dermot Rooney, Paul Sloan and Denis Cotter who came out on top after a close county final against Clonduff, Bredagh and Drumaness, defeating the Drums on a tie-break round of questions. The Ulster semi-final is next Saturday, March 13, against the Armagh and Antrim representatives in Edmund Rice HS, Glengormley.

*Well done to the Longstone Youth Club members who finished runners-up in Saturday's SELB Top Club 2010 Regional Finals.

*Hard luck to the St Louis Camogie Team, including eight of our club girls, who were defeated by a late goal in their All-Ireland Semi-Final Replay on Saturday in Tullamore. By all accounts it was a terrific game and the players gave their best on the day.
