Ardglass U16s 2-10 Bredagh 1-6

Ardglass U16s started their season of with a fine team performance on a wonderful sunny but breezy Sunday at Ardtole. Two first half goals gave Ardglass a six point margin at Half time, which the visitors could not close in the second half. Both goals where fine sweeping movements and they were dispatched to the net by Mark Crangle and Cavan Flynn after target man Daniel Walker had first fielded the ball and then laid the it off too the on coming support player.

Ardglass dominated the midfield sector from start to finish with the powerful Anthony Costello and perfect foil for the tenacious Mark Crangle. The defence also dealt comfortable with the Bredagh attacking threat with Mark Deegan, Mick McConville and Niall Cahir putting in domineering performances, while David Armstrong was equally adept at attacking and defending from the half back line.

Jordan Curran gave an energizing display from the No11 position and was the fulcrum of the attack and he was supported well by Cavan Flynn, Connor McGirr and Daniel Smyth.

Overall a good team performance, considering the team only had four weeks preparation and no challenge games prior to the start of the league.

More help is needed for Pitch Maintenance each Saturday morning in preparation for the new season, Works starts at 9am each week, if you can spare a couple of hours or stay to lunch time just turn up on the morning. Many hands make light work!
