An Riocht * The Minor Camogs lost the Championship Final to Portaferry on Saturday. * The U11 footballers lost v Burren on Sunday 1-8 to 0-3. Team: T Sloan, C Clarke, R White, J Rafferty, M Harper, A Harper, D Morgan 0-1 D Campbell 0-2, R Mathews, S Cunningham. * Good luck to St Columbans in Thursdays Down football final and also in the Ulster camogie semi-final and to St Louis in their upcoming big camogie and football matches. * There was a huge attendance at the K Factor second semi-final on Saturday. Well done to all the contestants and thanks to all who helped with the preparation and tidy up. * An Riocht annual mass for deceased members and friends this Friday from 8pm at Dunavil. * At the U20 Football in Clonduff, An Riocht lost by a point 2-5 to 1-7. An Riocht conceded two early goals and were playing catch up for most of the game. At the break An Riocht trailed 0-4 to 2-3. A few changes brought An Riocht more into the game in the second half and a Liam Harper goal followed by a Darren Doyle point leveled the match. An Riocht thought they had gone ahead for the first time late on but the 'score' did not stand and it was the home side which converted a later match winning free. An Riocht had thirty players stripped for action which is a good sign but could only use fifteen starters and five subs. An Riocht now play the winners of Bosco v losers of Burren v Ballymartin in the 'B' semi-final. * Good luck to An Riocht referee Neil Cousins who has been nominated for two awards by South Down GAA Clubs at the annual dinner this Friday. * An Riocht Juvenile Awards are on Friday 5th December at 7pm at Dunavil for all camogie and football players from U16 down. Players of the year and team awards will be presented. Team mentors should make their requirements known to the secretary by this weekend. * Texas Hold 'Em Poker Classic at Dunavil on this Friday from 9pm, £20 entry, £10 buy-in. Hot supper saved. KYC * The Young Mens Project ventured up Knockshee last Wednesday evening crossing mountain streams in the process. A hardy bunch indeed! * Big Tellys 'Press Play' will visit Dunavil on next Tuesday, 2nd December. This is a unique workshop designed for teenagers exploring current songs through drama, focusing on stories, characters and the dramatic potential contained within different styles of music. No music ability required just energy & imagination. Places Limited. If interested in popular music or drama don't miss this one off event. * The Artcart, a forty foot specially adapted lorry, will pay its first ever visit to the area on Monday evening 8th December. Up to 60 young people can be accommodated at Art Cart drop-in taster sessions.The onboard equipment installed on the vehicle includes i-Mac computers, M-Audio external soundcards, multi-channel headphone amplifiers, all in one Lexmark printer/scanners, Kodak digital camera docks. The computers have the following software installed, Music: Garageband, Apple Soundtrack, Reason, Ableton Live, Steinberg Studiocase; Photography: Adobe Photoshop; Animation: Animation Master, Adobe Flash; Film: Final-cut Express, i-Movie. This is a great opportunity to try out different types of multi media and is open to everyone. * There was a major Road Safety project at Dunavil last Tuesday. A traffic accident was staged in the car park and the rescue and emergency services responded. There was also a DVD showing. Over thirty young people from Kingdom and JIMS took part. Thanks to everyone who made this worthwhile event possible. * The first of the Christmas competitions takes place on next Thursday with the annual snooker tournament at Dunavil. * Welcome to Fr. Tony who attended the youth club last week meeting with the leaders and young people there.
