Semi Final Results   U16 Medallion Cup St Columbans 3-08 v De La Salle 1-07  St Malachys 4-09 v St Marks 3-06   U14 Danny Flynn Cup  St Malachys 3-12 St Columbans 0-03  St Marks 4-08 St Josephs 3-09   Finals of both competitions will be this thursday 26th November in Pairc Esler.   U14 Final throw in 10.30am St Malachys V St Marks U16 Final throw in 12.00pm St Malachys v St Columbans     Preview:   This year once again sees the Down Vocational Schools double header, U14 Danny Flynn Cup final 10.30am thrown in and U16 Medallion Cup final 12.00pm played at Pairc Esler. Last years 2 finals were a great success with underdogs De la Salle Downpatrick in U16 competition and St Columbans Kilkeel in the U14 competition stealing the honours from St Malachys Castlewellan.   This year as in last year St Malachys have 2 teams represented in the final which speaks volumes for the work being put in by the staff in the school. St Malachys were much impressive in their U14 Semi final blitzing St Columbans Kilkeel in a one sided encounter. St Malachys opponents in the U14 Final St Marks Warrenpoint beat the competitions favourites St Josephs Newry in dramatic circumstances on friday last and will surely give PJ Magees men a real battle in what will be a very tight contest and one which is hard to call.  In the U16 Final St Columbans Kilkeel are St Malachys opponents, the small Kilkeel school beating current Down and Ulster Champions De La Salle in a very physical Semi Final encounter. St Malachys defeated St Marks warrenpoint in the other semi final but the result could have been different if St Marks had scored the 2 penalties they were awarded during the game. In what should be another close game St Malachys will be slight favourites to win their first U16 Down title since their last Success in 2006.
