The Camogie Engage-HER recruitment and retention project continued on Monday past; thanks to our Sported volunteer Jill who travelled all the way from Belfast to facilitate this session. Those who participated more than made up for their lack of numbers with their enthusiasm as they delved into how we currently work with women and girls in the club, identified actions to help us improve this work and create positive experiences for girls and young women in our game. However, such a small core group cannot possibly sustain the huge effort required for camogie to prosper and the general lack of interest in putting Camogie Development on a professional footing does not bode well going forward. The next Engage-HER workshop, number 3 of 5 in total, takes place in January.
