Rory Gallagher has played down the half-time flare-up between Donegal and Tyrone.

Players and management from both sides squared up to each other as they left the pitch in Ballybofey. The flashpoint appeared to be sparked by an exchange between Tyrone's Sean Cavanagh and Donegal defender Eamon McGee, but was eventually defused.

"It was just two teams heading in. There was very little in it," Donegal boss Gallagher told RTE.

Cavanagh was sent off after picking up a black card four minutes from the end, having also been involved in the incident which led to Donegal midfielder Neil Gallagher receiving a second yellow card three minutes earlier.

Donegal won a niggly affair on a 1-13 to 1-10 scoreline.
