Durack in positive mood

February 20, 2015

Donegal manager Ray Durack is still confident that they can avoid relegation from Division 2B in the National hurling league.

The Ulster side are favourites to make a swift return back to division 3A hurling and last weekend's defeat to Mayo did little to help their cause.

Nonetheless, Durack feels that there were many positives to take from that game as they prepare to meet Armagh at the Athletic Grounds on Sunday afternoon.

"I have looked back on the DVD and for most of the game we were every bit as good as Mayo. The two goals they scored early in the second half was the difference, both came from turnovers. We were only a point down when they got the first goal and they pulled away after the second," said Durack told the Donegal Democrat.

"There were a lot of positives to come out of that game and after all it was our first outing on grass. Due to the bad weather we had been training on a five-a-side pitch which is far from ideal.

"We had a number of lads making their debuts and I thought they did very well and made the step no bother and they will have learned from the experience."
