It's a scary stat, says 'Maxi'

Manager 'Maxi' Curran can't believe St Eunan's have only ever won two games in the Ulster club football championship.

Prior to Sunday's quarter-final defeat of Roslea, the Letterkenny club had only previously managed to get the better of then Tyrone champions Clonoe six years ago.

"It's unbelievable that, considering all the success they've had at county level," Curran states in The Irish News.

"John Haran has won seven championships but that's only the second time he's won a match in Ulster.

"It's a scary stat, considering all the talented players they've had down through the years.

"They do feel they've let themselves down, that they haven't achieved what they could have achieved. They should have been growing year on year in Ulster, gaining the benefits and experience of playing in it every couple of years.

"There's definitely hunger and desire and that's definitely countered some of the fatigue that's there. There's a real desire to achieve and do themselves justice in Ulster."
