'Maxi': we eased off in the second half

St. Eunan's manager 'Maxi' Curran admitted that his side weren't at their best in the second half of their Ulster club SFC quarter-final victory over Roslea.

Playing their seventh championship match in as many weeks, the newly-crowned Donegal champions has six points to spare over their Fermanagh counterparts after leading taking a 1-5 to 0-0 into the break, with the goal coming from a Conall Dunne penalty in first half injury-time.

"It gave us a bit of a cushion in that we could have conceded a goal or two and still been in the game," Curran said in the Irish News.

"They're a very young team with a lot of inexperience, they're feeling their way through this thing. I'm just very happy for them."

The former Donegal selector reckons St. Eunan's became somewhat complacent in the second half, and attributed this to their sizeable half-time lead.

"That's a psychological thing - had we been only a point or two up and having to really go and attack the game, we might have been a wee bit more offensive-minded. That wasn't the case, we were comfortable, maybe it was on boys' heads that 'we hold what we have'.

"I can't just put my finger on it, it's not something we'd be happy about but, look, we won the game anyway."
