The Donegal SFC final between Glenswilly and St. Eunan's is expected to go ahead as planned on Sunday after Naomh Conaill's appeal was rejected by the county's CCC last night.

The Glenties club lodged an appeal after former inter-county referee Jimmy White gave Glenswilly's Ciaran Bonner yellow and black cards during last weekend's controversial semi-final.

His replacement, Oisin Crawford, scored a point in Glenswilly's 0-10 to 0-8 win.

Under the GAA's rules on black cards, Bonner should have been given a red card and no replacement should have been allowed.

As things stand, the final is going ahead in Ballybofey at 4pm, but Naomh Conaill could yet take their case to the Ulster Council. If they decide to launch a further appeal and are granted a rematch with Glenswilly, that game would be expected to take place on Sunday, with the Dr Maguire Cup decider pushed back to Saturday week - the day before the Donegal champions are due to play Roslea in the Ulster club SFC quarter-final.
