Donegal have dismissed rumours that referees in the county will go on strike if they don't receive two All-Ireland final tickets each as a "spoof".

No sooner had Donegal received its ticket allocation of 16,088 for the September 21 final against Kerry yesterday than rumours quickly spread of referees threatening to withdraw their services for the county championship which, of course, has yet to start.

But Donegal chairman Sean Dunnion insisted that there was no truth whatsoever to the rumours.

"We think it's a spoof by someone who's creating mischief," he told the Irish Daily Star.
