Jim McGuinness hasn't ruled out staying on as Donegal senior football manager regardless of the result in the All-Ireland SFC final against Kerry.

McGuinness' four year term as manager of the All-Ireland finalists comes to an end this year and many predicted he would step down from the post.

But, speaking to Newstalk, he said: "It's the last year of a four-year term - but that doesn't mean I won't be back next year."

Hoping to repeat the All-Ireland success of two years ago, McGuinness highlighted the value of  bringing his players away for training camps.

The Michael Murphy-captained outfit is heading to Lough Erne resort ahead of the Sam Maguire decider.

"When you get away for four or five days then it's like the icing on the cake," the manager commented.

"It's the thing that pulls it all together. You can sit down and have a chat with somebody and you can say 'do you understand that?'

"It's just a positivity. It is a good help that way."

Donegal spokesperson Ed Byrne, meanwhile, revealed that the training camps don't cost the County Board a single cent.

"There has been no cost to the clubs in Donegal or the Donegal County Board.

"It's come from fundraising by players and management and local business have really rowed in, especially after the win over Dublin."
