Donegal gunning for glory

'Looking forward to Donegal shooting down Kerry in Croke Park'

Plans by Donegal to roll out the big guns ahead of the All-Ireland SFC final against Kerry have been shelved!

As the countdown to the Sam Maguire decider continues to gather pace, there were plans to paint the majestic World War One guns that stand sentry over Lough Swilly at Dunree Fort in the county colours - but they were abandoned at the last minute.

"We were all set to do it; that was the original plan but when we took advice it was decided that it would not be appropriate," a spokesman told The Irish News.

Instead they did the next best thing by photoshopping the guns in the green and gold colours and posting the pictures of the fort the Fort Dunree facebook page.

The spokesman, however, stressed that visitors to the fort would see that the guns are still in their traditional red colour.
