Donegal will not name the Dublin player at the centre of the bite allegation involving Paddy McBrearty.
As a result, there is mounting speculation that the CCCC's investigation into the incident has reached a dead end.
Disciplinary chiefs made contact with Donegal last Wednesday but the All-Ireland champions declined to identify the culprit.
"I'm sure they (the Central Competitions Control Committee) would have liked to get a name but we didn't go down that route," Donegal chairman Sean Dunnion revealed to the Irish Daily Star.
"We feel it is out of our hands now. We will let due process happen.
"We went through the correct channels. We want to see it dealt with correctly and move on."
