First half goals from Brian McCarthy and Peter Daly helped Fingal to victory over Donegal in a dress rehearsal for the Allianz Hurling League Division 3A final in a fortnight's time.

An understrength Donegal side went into yesterday's encounter at O'Donnell Park, Letterkenny unbeaten, but were outplayed in the final 20 minutes when the north Dubliners scored seven points in succession. The visitors led by 2-3 to 0-7 at the break, but found themselves behind within a minute of the restart when Paddy Hannigan goaled for Donegal.

But the home side - who hit nine wides in the first half and also missed a penalty - could only add two more points as Fingal took control with JM Sheridan and Peter Daly leading their final quarter scoring charge. Tweet
