Murphy set to go under the knife

Donegal's Michael Murphy is treated for an injury before coming off the field
The knee injury which forced Donegal captain Michael Murphy to leave the field against Dublin on Saturday will require surgery.

Donegal were level with Dublin at Croke Park when Murphy was forced off with 11 minutes to go, and the Ulster champions eventually lost by nine points.

Initially it was thought that there was little cause for concern but this afternoon the Donegal Democrat reports that Murphy will undergo surgery this week after a scan on Monday revealed the full extent on the injury.

Murphy is now rated as doubtful for Donegal's crunch game against Armagh on Easter Sunday.
