Leo McLoone hopes to force his way into the Donegal starting XV in 2012.

The Glenties clubman was a peripheral figure as Donegal won the Ulster SFC last year but played a key role at centre back in UUJ's shock McKenna Cup victory over his native county on Sunday.

He says in the Irish News: "Donegal are still experimenting a lot with different players and it is hard for them with Michael Murphy in DCU, Mark McHugh in Sligo IT and we are playing for Jordanstown.

"But Jim will not worry too much about Sunday's result.

"I did very little last year so I am determined to get back to full fitness.

"We were not doing too much training recently but it is full steam ahead now." Tweet
