Diver appointed to Donegal backroom team

Former Donegal footballer Damien Diver
Donegal boss Jim McGuinness has appointed Damien Diver to his backroom team to help improve the strength and conditioning of the players.

Diver, who had been very vocal in his support of McGuinness prior to his appointment, is very enthusiastic about his new role and has already started work with the players as they bid to make up for lost time over the winter break.

"I'm over the moon to be asked," said the Ardara man.

"When you don't win anything as a player this is almost like a second chance of helping the side - it's the very next best thing to actually being out there.

"You miss that extra bit of buzz that goes along with championship day with the county. I'll be involved with the strength and conditioning aspect of things in the south of the county and I'll liaise with Jim."
