The club's Annual General Meeting is on this Saturday, 6 December, in the Clubhouse at 3.30pm. Once again members are reminded a good turnout on the day is encouraged. This is the time for anyone who has any questions or motions they would like to bring to the meeting. All positions are open to nominations and if anyone wants to put their name for a position should get it into the secretary. We look forward to seeing you all there on Saturday.
Congratulations to Sophie Doran (solo singing) and to Míceál-Piaras Ó Ceallaigh and his sister Cáit (novelty act) who gave wonderful performances in the Scór na nÓg county finals on Saturday night in Glenties. Sophie sang a tremendous version of She Moved Through the Fair, while the Ó Ceallaigh siblings entertained the large audience with a special version of An t-Uasal Tyrannosaurus. Unfortunately neither act won in their respective categories. They were among the youngest participants that performed in the competition and the club looks forward to them doing well again in the future.
Congratulations to Ciaran Dowds who was part of the Donegal County Council team that retained their Ulster Junior Inter-firms championship recently. They will play in the All-Ireland semi-final shortly.
The club's underage presentation is on Tuesday 30 December at 6.30pm. The venue is yet to be confirmed but all details will be confirmed shortly.
Congratulations to Jonathan McGrath (Bonzo) and Anne-Marie McMenamin who got engaged last week.
There was no winner of the lotto jackpot last week. Paddy McDermott won ?40. The numbers drawn were 5, 1, 6, 4, 3, 7, 2. Next week's jackpot is ?450. Anyone with lotto's should have them in the clubhouse by Thursday night or hand it to any club member.

Carndonagh
Congratulations to our senior team who defeated Red Hugh's, Killygordon by 0-13 to 1-6 and gained promotion to Division 2 of the All County League next season. Although it boiled down to this one match at the end of the season, promotion was won by the dedication of the management and players throughout a long and tough campaign. A fitness test in frosty conditions at the beginning of February marked the beginning of this commitment that did not falter all year. The winning of the Junior Championship and promotion to Division 2 were built on fitness, skill, hard work and team discipline. Again congratulations to the reserve team who went through the season undefeated.
The final of the underage parish leagues were cancelled last Saturday due to the inclement weather. They will now take place on this Saturday 6 December. Juvenile hurling continues in the Gym on Friday evening.
On Saturday night our club participated in the Donegal Scór Final in Glenties. Despite an excellent performance by all participants in the solo singing, ballad group and quiz sections we didn't progress to the Ulster Semi-Final this year. Congratulations go to Kate McCreanor and to our ballad group, Niamh McDonald, Stephen McLaughlin, Kerry-Lee Lafferty and Niamh McGonagle who were awarded 2nd place in the competition. The club would like to thank them and the quiz team, Pádraig Doherty, Martin McLaughlin and Feargal Doherty for their participation in this important cultural event. Also many thanks to all those have supported our competitors.
This annual draw in aid of Juvenile football, hurling and camogie will take place on Wednesday 17 December. Tickets cost ?2 and can be purchased from any club member.
The winning numbers in the Carndonagh GAA mini-lotto were 13, 7, 4, 5 and 17. There was no jackpot winner. The ?75 went to Michael McLaughlin (N), Whinpark. ?30 to Peter Doherty, Burnfoot. ?15 to Kathy Glacken, Bree, Malinhead. Sadie McGonigle, c/o Tully's Bar and Rita Bradley, Moss Rd. Carndonagh. The jackpot next week is ?2,000 and the draw will be held in Pat Kelly's.

Moville
Uachtaran Cumann Peil na mBan Geraldine Giles and All-Star Enda McGinley were the guests of honour at the club's annual dinner dance in Caislean Mara on Saturday evening. Chairman Con O'Donnell welcomed the guests and thanked Geraldine in particular for making a quick dash from Tuam where she was officiating earlier in the day. Both guests congratulated the ladies team on their great season and in appealing to the men's teams. Enda McGinley stated that with the right commitment anything is achievable and they should think to themselves that at next year's event they will be the centre of attraction.
County championship, all county league and Ulster runners up medals were presented to the victorious ladies team that took the first-ever county senior title to the club. The recently won ladies under-16 title and medals were also presented. Framed photographs of the ladies team were presented to sponsor Liam Grimley and the team bus driver Donal Skelly in appreciation of their support throughout the year.
Con O'Donnell presented former treasurer Joe McGeady with a special award in recognition of his many years. Joe has been a stalwart in the club long before we entered senior football and was treasurer up until a few years ago.
Players that represented the county at different levels in both men's and ladies football all received commemoration plaques. The biggest interest in the night was the announcement of the players of the year award. Jason Reynolds was a popular winner of the reserve award. Danny Murphy who two years previous won the reserve award went one better this year when he was the players' choice as senior player of the year. It has been an exciting week for senior ladies player Loirin Melarkey, last Sunday she made her senior debut for Donegal and on Saturday evening she was selected as ladies senior player of the year.
Under-10s should note that there will be no more Saturday morning training until early 2009. There is a large selection of club gear available from Treasurer Bridget Harkin. A new addition to the stock is club underage jackets. Our thanks to the Inishowen Independent and the Derry Journal for providing photographic coverage on the night.
