St Eunan's look to clinch senior double

November 28, 2008
After losing out to Crossmaglen in the last for of the Ulster club championship, Donegal senior football champions St Eunan's make their return to the domestic this weekend in an attempt to claim the All-County Division 1A title. The only thing that stand in the way of Eamonn O'Boyle's charges and a county senior double of championship and league is an in-form Naomh Conaill outfit that have held an impressive home record in the league this year, which has helped them pierce their way through to the last two in the county. The Naomh Conaill club boast a good record against the Letterkenny men in county finals. They won their first ever senior county title against Eunan's in 2002 and when they won the Donegal SFC in 2005 Eunan's were the side they put to the side once more. A close encounter is set to be on the cards at MacCumhaill Park this Sunday at 2.00pm, but Eunan's will be expected to take an 11th league title even without the likes of ace forward and Brendan Devenney, who is ruled out with a rib injury.
