O'Boyle relishing Crossmaglen clash

November 14, 2008
St Eunan's manager Eamonn O'Boyle has suggested that his side face one of their biggest ever tests when they travel to Enniskillen this Sunday to take on defending champions Crossmaglen in the Ulster Senior Football Club Championship semi-finals. O'Boyle has openly admitted that the Armagh champions are the best club side in the country, but is still relishing the chance to come up against them this weekend on the provincial stage. "We are under no illusion but that we are facing a massive challenge. But it is a challenge we are looking forward to. Crossmaglen are the best club side in the country and in a way it is a David and Goliath clash," said O'Boyle. After puncturing his lung in the Letterkenny outfit's quarter-final win over Clonoe two weeks ago, star forward Brendan Devenney has been ruled out of Sunday's last four clash. O'Boyle is confident though that who ever he calls in will be capable of piercing Cross' at the back. "We certainly could do with him (Devenney) on Sunday," he admitted. But we have known for the last week and we have time to get our heads around it and prepare without him. While we have options alright but to be honest we have not decided who is going to come in yet. Peter O'Doherty is away to Australia, but we have spoken to Paddy McGowan, Dualtach Molloy and Kevin Winston and it is, I suppose, down to those three," he explained. The two sides meet this Sunday, November 16, in the Ulster SFC semi-final at Brewster Park, Enniskillen, where throw-in is scheduled for 2.30pm.
