2,000 extra tickets available for MacHale Park clash

July 31, 2019

27,000 will be in MacHale Park on Saturday evening.

The capacity for Saturday’s Super 8’s clash between Mayo and Donegal at MacHale Park, Castlebar has been set at 27,000.

Two thousand extra tickets are to be made available for the must win game, although the Western People reports that the tickets will not go on general sale, but instead be distributed to clubs in both participating counties.

The excitement is building considerably in the lead up to the game and the extra tickets are set to be snapped up very quickly indeed.

Due to health and safety regulations, the capacity was originally set at 25,000, but Connacht Council are to host a music event before the game, allowing for the added tickets.

As it is a stand alone tie, there were safety concerns as the majority of supporters would be arriving at the same time, but with the music now taking place beforehand, patrons are urged to come good and early.

Westport's Frank McCaffrey‬, Donegal band Goats Don't Shave and Davy Carton from The Sawdoctors will provide the pre-match entertainment on Saturday, starting from 3.30pm.
