Tyrone forward Cathal McShane knows more than most what this weekend's Super 8's clash means to supporters of both counties.

The Red Hands meet Donegal at Ballybofey in a must win clash for both sides with the winner going through to the All-Ireland semi-final, although a draw will do Tyrone to get through.

McShane lives along the Donegal border and has cousins residing in the Tir Chonaill county. He admitted to the Ulster Herald that the banter is good ahead of the game, but stressed he was just focused on the task.

"I know from living close to the border that there's a right bit of banter between my relations down in Donegal," stated McShane.

"I've chatted to a few cousins and they're excited about the game and they're looking forward to it. I just keep quiet and get on with it. They're great people to be fair."

McShane added that Tyrone will have to be at their best to get a positive result from the game, especially as they are playing in Donegal's backyard.

"It's going to take a real team effort from every man. We've a great panel at the moment. I've always said that throughout the year. Men on the field and men coming off the bench, if they can make an impact again I can see a positive result on Sunday."
