Donegal GAA splashed out almost €1 million on preparing their county teams in 2017.

The total spend was €952,697, which was an increase of over €50,000 on last year. Predictably, the senior football team accounted for the bulk of the figure. Player travelling expenses amounted to €245,710, while team administration, sports gear, equipment and laundry costs, medical expenses and catering came in at over €100,000 each.

With income up €90,000 to €1,492,224, the board had a surplus of €64,152.

The figures were revealed at last night's annual convention in Ballybofey which saw Mick McGrath elected as the county's new chairman.
