Down's Adam Lynch tries to block Lorcan McWilliams of Derry

After the disappointment of yesterday's All-Ireland SFC qualifier exit at the hands of Kildare, there was something to cheer about for Derry football fans today as they secured a place in the inaugural Ulster U20 FC final.

The Oak Leafers got the better of Down in a high-scoring semi-final contest by 2-17 to 2-15 in Clones today.

A fantastic second-half performance saw Mickey Donnelly's side overturn a 0-7 to 2-8 half-time deficit.

Goals from Lorcan McWilliams (penalty) and Callum Brown were instrumental as they outscored the Mourne County by 2-10 to 0-7 after the resumption.

They will look to continue their winning ways when they take on Armagh in the decider.
