Dungiven too strong for Lavey in competitive encounter Lavey badly needing a win, started this SFC game without the services of their key player and county senior defender Kevin Cloy and their hopes weren't helped further when four minutes into the game they were reduced to 14 players when centre-half back Paul Doherty got a straight red card for striking. Even at this stage the Dungiven side were in control and led by two early points from Paul Murphy from a free and Eunan Murphy from play. Lavey battled hard for the remainder of the half and were still in contention at the break trailing by 0-8 to 0-3. The Dungiven side dominated the second-half and despite the efforts of the Lavey side ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-6.
