Convery KO confirmed

Derry's Ruairi Convery
Derry hurling ace Ruairi Convery has conceded that his season is over.

The Swatragh dual player has undergone surgery after chipping a bone in his ankle during the league game against Kildare in March and admits that he won't represent the Oak Leaf County again in 2013:

"I had the operation last Friday, so that's my season gone," he says in The Irish News. "It was quite a big one so it will keep me out for a while.

"Even after those six or eight weeks, I will have a splint in for another six or eight weeks, so that's me definitely done with the county for the year.

"I won't even get playing for the club much the way it is looking. It's definitely frustrating because I got through the league alright. We were coming up to the Christy Ring Cup and then this happens."
