Michael Davitt GAC Swatragh Club notes
January 30, 2012
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The club urgently needs a football referee to ensure participation in both senior and reserve football competitions. This is a very good opportunity to try refereeing at underage level plus a good form of exercise. The role would only involve refereeing a few matches in the first year but it would be invaluable to the club.
A bingo caller is required to share the job with our three present callers. One Saturday per month is all the commitment that is required. Any person or persons prepared to give either of these jobs a try please ring or text 07968167472 for more details. Thanks to everyone who took park in the recent 'Heart Screening' day facilitated by Healthy Hearts Healthy Lives. Thankfully everyone screened has now been given the all clear to continue with their respective sports.
The major drainage programme being worked on for the last few weeks will soon be completed and will finally solve a long lasting problem permanently. Thanks to all who gave up their time to help with this work. New windows, external doors and heating have been ordered for the hall. The building of the new kitchen will start within the next week or so. The work is being grant aided by the Rural Development Council (RDC)/International Fund for Ireland. The building of the new chair store will also start shortly. This is being grant assisted by Awards for All/Lottery Funding.
There will a meeting for all coaches within the club with a coaching officer from the county board to facilitate discussion and the setting up of structures. Can nyone interested in going please contact Peter Friel.
