Dublin's superior fitness was fingered by Derry boss Damien Cassidy as the major difference between the sides in their NFL Division One clash at Parnell Park.

Derry lost out by 0-7 to 1-11 in a game that Cassidy described as a "real hash".

"I know from my perspective that fitness was a part of it but it was still not the part of it that explained why the quality was so poor," Cassidy lamented.

"From both teams' perspective, generally speaking, the game was just a real hash.

"There were parts of the game when the ball was just pinging about the place and there was no real method to it.

"It was a game of football that was being played in the second week of February. Dublin had the fitness to pull away in the final 15 minutes."
