Doire Colmcille Club notes
December 03, 2008
Club Gear has now arrived and can be collected from your coach. There are also a few jerseys left in sizes 10/11, 13/14, small and XL.
Doire Colmcilles Under 14 team played a challenge game last weekend against a weakened Steelstown team and ended up comprehensively beating their local rivals.
In defence Cormac Keenan and Mathew McDermott played excellent keeping their opposite players scoreless, with midfielders Philip Doherty and Caolin McGrath controlling the game. Up front Jack Casson and Aodhan Irwin played outstanding and in particular one fantastic goal from Caolin McGrath stood out in a list of impressive scores. It was a great team performance and all the players are to be congratulated.

Doire Colmcille would appeal to all club players, members, officials and supporters to show their support to Steelstown GAC on their drive to increase blood donors following the untimely passing of promising young footballer Brian Og McKeever. Many of our own club members and family have benefited from the receipt of blood transfusions and we would stress that giving blood regularly is essential. All members are asked to give Blood on Monday the 15th December at the Steelstown GAC club house on the Ballyarnett Road. For further details on how to become a donor you can visit the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service website on www.nibts.org and you can also sign up to become a donor by downloading a form from www.doirecolmcille.net
