Drumhowan 5-10
Lissan 0-5
Drumhowan stormed to the Ulster club Junior Football Championship title with an all-round unwavering display against Lissan yesterday at Rooster Park.
The Monaghan champions were off to the ideal start when former county star Stephen McGinnity struck for the net inside the opening 10 minutes, with a superb effort that rattled into the top corner of the Lissan net.
From there Gerard Duffy and Farney attacker James McElroy exposed their opponents' frailties at the back by shooting over the points that established a 2-7 to 0-1 lead at the half-time interval.
In the second half, Drumhowan would go on to hit a devastating tally of 3-3 to Derry side's four points, with the pick of those scores a Ronan Rooney goal 10 minutes from time that sealed the deal for the Monaghan men.
