Smallball, how can you say full credit to all involved, as a management team you decide the time and preparation needed. Three week is a joke and does not in any way allow proper training, team formation or development into a system and that showed on Saturday. Hurling in Meath gets a hammering year after year but if we continue to allow substandard preparation and not bringing a professionalism then we are only adding fuel to the biggots fire Shivermetimber (Meath) - Posts: 124 - 14/09/2015 14:29:06 1787142 Link 0 |
Exactly my point... the County Board only appointed management team in July, how can any team be expected to prepare in that short space of time. Same with minor hurlers the management team appointed in late spring, while minor football start preparation in September. No support or interest from County Board,in progressing hurling in the county. I don't know how financing works in the county but I am sure the hurling clubs pay the same affiliation fees as football clubs, and how is funding handled from Croke Park to the county Board in respect of hurling and football development ?? smallball100 (Meath) - Posts: 2 - 14/09/2015 15:27:52 1787190 Link 0 |
You obviously weren't there. The management were there with the players. They thanked them all for the effort latouche25 (Meath) - Posts: 520 - 14/09/2015 15:36:53 1787196 Link 0 |
Main reason that it was July before a manager was appointed was that the Clubs never bothered to nominate one by the nomination date. After the June meeting when this was announced Philip OBrien said he would do it and was annoyed no one told him the nomination forms were out. He was given the job on the spot as no one else wanted it and was then ratified at July meeting. glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1108 - 14/09/2015 17:38:05 1787280 Link 0 |
