Westmeath manager Colin Kelly has drafted in a number of players that were not involved in the NFL campaign.

Kelly and his selectors have made the changes ahead of the Leinster SFC campaign which begins later in the year.

Mullingar Shamrocks midfielder Darragh Daly and St Loman's goalkeeper Stephen Gallagher return to the panel after a lengthy absence.

The Downs' Joe Moran has been rewarded for some excellent appearances for his club.

"It's great to have the lads on board in the squad, they all have a lot to offer and it will no doubt strengthen the squad. The lads have been involved in previous county panels so they know the score," Kelly told the Westmeath Independent.

The former Louth manager added that they have cut back their training schedule for this month in order for the clubs to have their players.

"We are training one night a week at the minute because the players are back training with their clubs for the month of April. Things are going reasonably well from our point of view.

"The championship is just around the corner, so our focus is firmly on that. We have been hit by a number of injury concerns, but that's to be expected after a very competitive league campaign."
