Kilkenny and Tipperary advanced to the last four of this year’s Liam MacCarthy Cup competition…
1. Eoin Murphy (Kilkenny)
The Cats netminder had to be at his brilliant best to thwart an Alan Cadogan goal attempt in their quarter-final success.
2. Paul Murphy (Kilkenny)
Murphy’s perseverance paid off as the defeated Leinster finalists reeled in Cork to set up a semi-final showdown with holders Limerick.
3. Huw Lawlor (Kilkenny)
Lawlor and his Kilkenny team-mates bounced back from their Leinster final disappointment in impressive fashion.
4. Lee Cleere (Laois)
Cleere and the O’Moore County made Tipperary sweat for their semi-final ticket.
5. Jack Kelly (Laois)
The Rathdowney-Errill clubman produced a ‘man-of-the match’ display for Eddie Brennan’s charges.
6. Padraic Maher (Tipperary)
Maher and the Premier County will renew acquaintances with Wexford in the last four.
7. Conor Fogarty (Kilkenny)
Fogarty put in a tremendous shift for Brian Cody’s side and clipped over two points for good measure.
8. Noel McGrath (Tipperary)
McGrath’s pinpoint accuracy from long range was a highlight of Tipp’s performance against Laois.
9. Paddy Purcell (Laois)
As per usual, the midfielder emptied the tank in his county’s cause and has Leinster SHC action to look forward to in 2020.
10. Colin Fennelly (Kilkenny)
The Cork full-back line struggled to get to grips with Fennelly in the second-half of the last eight encounter.
11. Jason Forde (Tipperary)
Forde took the scoring honours for the Liam Sheedy managed outfit against Laois with an individual tally of 1-12.
12. Richie Hogan (Kilkenny)
The return of the former ‘Hurler of the Year’ to the playing field is a timely boost for the Cats.
13. Alan Cadogan (Cork)
No finger of blame for the Rebel County’s defeat can be pointed in Cadogan’s direction.
14. Patrick Horgan (Cork)
The Glen Rovers man’s eye-catching individual haul of 3-10 wasn’t enough to prevent Cork’s exit from the Liam MacCarthy Cup race.
15. Seamus Callanan (Tipperary)
The Tipp captain made no mistake with a 16th minute goal opportunity and also chipped in with two points for good measure.
