Brother Bosco Cup: wins for Naas, Pat's and Marist

St Pats celebrate a goal 'Poznan style' during their win over St. Joseph's Rochfortbridge at Pairc Tailteann.

Holders Naas CBS, St. Pat's of Navan and Marist Athlone are through to the quarter-finals of the Leinster PP Schools senior football 'A' championship (Brother Bosco Cup).

All three enjoyed decisive victories over St Mel's of Longford, St. Joseph's, Rochfortbridge and St Mary's CC, Edenderry respectively this afternoon.

Naas CBS, who won the competition for the first time in their history last year, were 2-18 to 1-9 winners over traditional giants St Mel's at the Raheen's GAA grounds after leading by 1-7 to 0-5 at half-time.

At Pairc Tailteann, Aaron Lynch posted 0-13 as Colm O'Rourke's St Pat's defeated St Joseph's by 2-17 to 0-9. Midfielder Cian McBride and substitute Niall Finnerty were the Navan goal-scorers.

In today's other Round of 16 clash in Kiltoom, last year's runners-up Marist Athlone stormed to a 3-10 to 0-7 victory over St Mary's CC after taking a 2-3 to 0-6 lead into the interval.
