Cavan County Board cancelled the round of games last week to prevent further injuries to the senior panel.
This week they play the round of games that were scheduled to be played "without the county players"
Now they knew the minor fixture date for ages so why didn't they play the round of games without the county players last week and leave this week free to go to support the minors or play them on a friday night like they did a few weeks ago !

Great Result for the Minors ..strange scoring to go from 1-5 0-3 up to 1-5 to 0-11 before half time with 8 unanswered points from monaghan. Did not look good ..did we make major change in 2nd half or there was wind ? Well done to the lads and Management.

O Rourke, Patterson and Pierson were excellent I hope that Patterson will be ok for the Semi- Final.
Very strange to see one of the best goals ever scored in Kingspan Breffni Park disallowed totally baffling refereeing decision but fair play to the lads they got on with it.

The Ref was doing alright until he disallowed that goal. And what a goal that never was!!! Ref just fell apart after that and some strange strange calls after that. Was a strange game as Monaghan fought back then Cavan did. Both teams struggled with the lack of a bouncing the ball in the first half. they seem to adjust in the second half to it. the bounce just wasnt there. Maybe saturday's rain had a major factor

just want to compliment the players for their showing last night, fantastic never say die spirit from those lads it was really heartening to see the faces of the boys who nearly had to be carried off the field when they were substituted they really emptied the tanks! its a testament to john brady & all his backroom team
for their spirit & the way they came back after half time and that strangely disallowed goal ( one of a number of poor decisions from the ref ) the pace of the game was ferocious with some outstanding monaghan tackling it has to be said the young mullahoran lad at half forward was inspiring really got the crowd going .
hopefully another strong performance the next day

Where did you see a Mullahoran lad? What was his name and number I can't remember anybody from Mullahoran but I stand to be corrected.

I think spiritof97 is talking about Ruairi Curran number 10 from Swad, He scored 2 points and the brilliant disallowed goal. He came off injured. Swad in Irish is very similar to the Irish for Mullahoran

That was terrific from the minors last night. I left that game having actually enjoyed the football on display in Breffni Park which isn't too common nowadays.

It was just refreshing to see 15 on 15, no blanket defences, no defensive stuff, just two honest teams going hell for leather at one another, really superb to watch, and all the sweeter to win.

Cavan have some excellent forwards, and that's where their strength lies, we put together some lovely free flowing moves, should have got 4 goals but the referee messed up I think on the disallowed goal.

The monaghan number 8 was unlucky to end up on the losing team, he was terrific throughout.

My only concern would be how we stopped playing for the last 10 minutes of the first half and let Monaghan right back into it. But credit to the lads they stuck with it and got the result they deserved.

The Cavan keeper was excellent, he kept us in the game at crucial times.

Well done John Brady and co.

sorry lads i made a quick translation from a quick look at somebody else's programme ( as they were all gone when i got in ! ) yeah it was indeed rory curran that played his socks off in that second half as you say it was a thoroughly enjoyable match and lets hope for more of the same.
