Yes extremely harsh on Killeshandra who were in a senior semi two years ago.
Even at that time they had v limited panel just 17 or 18 players and have since lost 7 or 8 of them to emigration which would decimate any small club. It is sad to see the way they have gone.
For those of you's saying 'a big town like Killeshandra' - It is 1/3 of a parish along with arva & cornafean, in which Cornafean is by far the biggest area,
they have been forced to amalgamate at underage because they simply haven't got the numbers and the future looks very bleak for them at the minute, the club is in disarray.

Btw lad, killeshandra started amalgamating not because they were short players but because they wanted to win. They lost loads of kids as a result of that short sighted approach. They are the biggest population in that parish and have totally mis managed the club. Every club has emigration, not the main issue there.

That was some Spanking Shercock handed Denn, from reading the Report young Ted went off early enough. But still to only register two points in the whole second half, Denn seriously could be looking at junior.
If ballyhaise weren't acting the maggit in the last round where they let Denn back into the championship we wouldn't be having these playoffs.

Getting to the business end of things now. Quarter-Finals & Relegation games this weekend. Some big games, I just really can't see by Ballyhaise winning out the Intermediate title, Laragh a close 2nd. Belturbet might have something to say but will come up just short.

Butlersbridge v Killinkere in the Relegation play-offs, loser down to the Junior ranks for next year. After Killinkere getting to the Final last year and arguably should of won it, which in turn would of guaranteed Senior Championship football it would be a massive massive blow to get relegated, toss of a coin this game. I would also back Redhills & Killashandra to follow the losers of that game to be relegated. All of a sudden the Junior Championship looks like a really tough grade to win again next year.

Leading onto the Junior Championship, going by form and current League standings, you would imagine Kildallan, Ballymachugh, Drung & Drumalee all winning their respective Quarter-Finals this weekend but of course Championship never turns out quite that easy.

So if I was to see an upset it would probably be Mountnugent giving Ballymachugh some real problems, it being a local derby aswell it could be very tight. Knockbride might also have something to say against Kildallan with some of their county minors back.

Drumalee should see off Kill by 5 or 6 points you would imagine, I know Kill were going really well before their last game but it's the knock out stages now and i expect Drumalee's experience from over the years at playing up in Senior & Intermediate level to tell, with alot of their team with 1 or 2 Intermediate Championship medals still playing. My current favourites for the Junior title this season.

Drung should see off Shannan Gaels by 4 or 5 points and will fancy their chances at getting to a Final which is well in their reach, I just think thier limited panel will be thier downfall in the heat of the knock out stages.

Anyone else with something to add on this weekend's games and beyond?

Some hammering redhills gave drumlane too. Wil be very strong junior with Drumlane, Killinkere and Kileshandra/Denn thrown into the mix now.
Whats the predictions for the quater finals?

Cracker of a game earlier between Kildallan & Knockbride, does anyone know if the replay will be played Wednesday night coming or next weekend? Ballymachugh with a comfortable won over Mountnugent, Givney going off was a massive blow. Looking forward to the other two Junior Quarter-Finals tomorrow along with the Intermediate Quarter-Finals.

Redhills gave drumlane some pasting with a patched up team.

Also I heard Butlersbridge had alot of players missing thru injury or other reasons and bet Killinkere quite comfortably aswell. It's a funny old game at times. Killashandra will hardly beat Denn in the last relegation match?

That'd be some turnaround...the bottom 3 surviving!

So Ballymachugh & Drumalee into the semi-finals. Other two Quarter-Finals ended in draws. Anyone know when they will be replayed? You would think it will be a Ballymachugh v Drumalee final. Which would probably of been the two favourites from the start of Championship. But nothing is set in stone. Drumalee got out of jail today against Kill but to come back from 9 or 10 points down says alot about them. Shannan Gaels had a great opportunity to beat Drung it what was in all honesty a game to forget. Drung will probably win the replay to face Drumalee in the semi's. Kildallan to take Knockbride next time out and play Ballymachugh in the other semi-final.

As for the Intermediate Championship, a massive shock in Shercock beating Laragh, anyone at the game? I certainly was not expecting that. Elsewhere I expected Ballyhaise, Drumgoon and Belturbet all to win. A Ballyhaise v Shercock final? Anyone's call at this stage but still sticking with Ballyhaise to win it. Great excitement in the Championships this year!

whatever about the standard of quality, its hard to beat the excitement and competitiveness of the club champos. I much prefer it to the county game these days...

Big shock indeed Shercock beating Laragh, you would expect them to go on to a final now but the Goonies caught them in the group stages so who knows. Ballyhaise looking very strong but Belturbet will give them plenty of it.

Some fascinating results in the Junior, as predicted Kildallon and knockbride was gonna be close, cracking game. Ref shafted Kildallon though.
Hot favourites Drumalee and Drung extremely lucky to survive their games vs Kill and Shannon Gaels

shercock got largh on the perfect day to beat them, slippy wet ball palyers unable to keep their feet really suited their dogged ways, no disrespect to shercock, on paper laragh have a better panel but that means nothing in a wet quarter final, in terms of belturbit they wont get near ballyhaise, i seen them friday, and in my opinion if Bailieborough had more forawrds they could of won. I think this now is a walk in the park for ballyhaise. considering their forawrds, any managers dream.

Bit of a bottle job by Laragh against a poor Shercock team with a fairly blunt attack. Really thought Laragh would have had the firepower to get the job done regardless of the weather conditions and been the best team to rattle Ballyhaise. Don't think there is anyone to touch them now..
Fancy a narrow Drumgoon win in the semi and Ballyhaise to cruise to the Intermediate winning both semi and final by 6+.
Ballymachugh looked good at the weekend in the junior but Givney getting put off early would have ended Mountnugent's hopes of winning so it's hard to judge just them yet. Drumalee given a good scare by Kill which also means they are not too far ahead of the remaining teams. Both replays are tough to call and should be close again.

With all the negativity in football I must say that knockbride, kill and drumalee and kildallon are at least trying to play good football and not this disgusting defensive rubbish!!!!
