Shot stopping and scoring - all in a day's work for Monaghan's minor 'keeper
Monaghan minor goalkeeper Ryan Farrelly scored from play against Derry!

Monaghan goalkeeper Ryan Farrelly showed his forward team-mates how it's done in yesterday's Ulster MFC clash with Derry.

The role of the goalkeeper has evolved considerably in recent years and the Magheracloone youngster took it to a new level at Celtic Park.

He found a team-mate with a short kick-out during extra-time and then popped up at the opposite end of the field to raise a white flag.

He must have received a few tips from his senior counterpart Rory Beggan whose accuracy in front of the posts is well documented.

Unfortunately, Farrelly's efforts proved to be in vein as the Farney County lost out by the narrowest of margins (2-13 to 2-14) after extra-time.

Is this the first time a goalkeeper scored from play in an inter-county championship game?
