New Tipperary hurling manager Liam Sheedy has included a dozen of this year's All-Ireland U21 winners in his pre-season training panel.

Jake Morris and Ger Browne have already featured for the seniors and they are joined by Brian McGrath, Killian O’Dwyer, Robert Byrne, Dillon Quirke, Colin English, Jerome Cahill, Mark Kehoe, Cian Darcy, Paddy Cadell and Barry Hogan. Former All Star Cathal Barrett has also been included, despite being in the news for the wrong reasons recently.

The squad's first game of the new season will be against All-Ireland champions Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds in the Munster Hurling League on December 14. The first game in the 2019 Allianz League will be against Clare in Thurles on January 26.

The Premier County have also announced a new sponsorship deal with Teneo, a global CEO advisory firm owned by Portroe man Declan Kelly, a brother of Labour TD Alan Kelly. The sponsorship will cover all hurling and football teams from minor through to senior.

“Tipperary county board is delighted to announce that it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Teneo,” county board chairman John Devane said.

“Teneo is the world’s leading CEO advisory firm and has strong links to our county, with its chairman, CEO and co-founder Declan Kelly being a proud Tipperary native and longtime private supporter of Tipperary GAA initiatives in the last several years.

“He is a lifelong friend of Tipperary senior hurling manager Liam Sheedy, both of whom come from Portroe, and we thank him for taking on this important new leadership role on behalf of the Premier County.”
